Lucie Appart is a photojournalist based in Brussels. She has always been passionate about photography.

Graduated as a journalist (specialization in photojournalism and press magazine) from IHECS (Institut des Hautes Etudes des Communications Sociales in Brussels) in 2016, Lucie Appart was able to make her mark as an intern at VU' Agency in Paris.

As a student, she got caught up in the game of photographer by going to the Philippines to work on the place where transsexual women live in an ultra-conservative society.

She travelled through Athens to denounce the condition of refugees trapped in this European capital.

She regularly works as a picture editor for the newspaper l'Echo.

Lucie collaborates with Le Monde selon les femmes, a Brussels feminist gender and development NGO for which she translates concepts such as gender-based violence, masculinity or intersectionality into images.

She has exhibited several times her documentary work carried out in Cotonou (Benin) on the theme of street children. Very sensitive to human injustices, she is convinced that long format photojournalism can change mentalities.
