Girls Dantokpa is a report about young girls who live on the street in Cotonou. Most of them  ran away from home due to abuse. They were placed in other families for financial reasons and also left them. Most of them are in the Dantokpa market, one of the largest markets in West Africa. There, they have no choice: during the day they sell oranges, sachets of water, help some merchants. But that is not enough. They also need protection of young boys and , in return, they must have sex with them. They sometimes prostitute themselves. Contraception does not exist. They frequently get pregnant and they often get sexually transmitted diseases.

Some organizations try to help them by offering them safe overnight accomodation or training. But freedom is sometimes stronger than anything else for these young girls between 12 and 20 years old.

The photos we can see are images taken in the evening, when they gather on the bridge. There they can exchange, relax, have a laugh, there they prostitute themselves and sleep.
